A little local help for everyday returns
No extra drive. No parking. No waiting in line. LYU Local picks up your return from home and brings it to the right drop-off location for you.
We’re your local return helper.
Simple, careful, and close to home.

Request a pickup
Complete the short form. It opens a text message so both sides keep a written record. A request is not booked until we confirm eligibility, price, route window, and destination.
Three easy steps
Choose the return method in the store or retailer app.
Send us the instructions and choose a pickup time that works for your route area.
You receive pickup and successful drop-off confirmation. Then you pay.
Try us without the worry
Built for neighbors along the Oakland-Fremont corridor, one careful pickup at a time.
We send pickup confirmation and the best available staffed drop-off proof.
Your first basic route pickup is free. Future standard route pickups are $5.
Launch offer: first basic route pickup free for eligible new local customers. Standard route price is $5 for the first item. We always confirm the complete price before pickup.
Two return types
Approval required
Before you schedule
Simple pricing. Your first eligible basic route pickup is free. After that, standard route pickup is $5 for the first approved item. Each additional approved item is $2, up to three items at one address and the same destination.
Basic packaging help. We can seal reusable customer-provided packaging and attach a customer-provided printable label. New mailers, boxes, padding, fragile packing, or special handling are not included; any available material charge is quoted before pickup.
Payment request by text. We confirm the total price before pickup, then send payment instructions linked to your order after completion. Additional items, special trips, failed readiness, cancellations, returns, or reattempts are priced before they apply.
Pilot limits. Maximum three items; each must be 20 lb or less and no longer than 24 inches on any side. Total declared merchandise value must be $100 or less.
Complete instructions required. QR returns require the full retailer instruction screen, QR code, item photo, deadline, and designated drop-off location—not only a cropped code.
Your label, your return. You are responsible for choosing the correct return method, attaching the right valid label, and meeting the retailer’s deadline.
We handle the first mile. LYU Local completes pickup and carrier drop-off; the retailer controls eligibility and refunds.
Safety first. No illegal goods, cash, jewelry, medication, weapons, alcohol, loose batteries, leaking items, or undisclosed hazardous materials.
Numbered security seal. When available, we photograph the order with a tamper-evident seal number at pickup and do not reopen it. We then send staffed handoff proof. Carrier tracking may not update immediately.
Deadline protection. We do not accept returns with fewer than two business days remaining. Your confirmation states the planned handoff; normally no later than the end of the next business day unless agreed otherwise.
Questions answered before pickup
Usually yes. A prepaid-label UPS, FedEx, or USPS return must be sealed and ready to ship. Box-free service is accepted only when the complete retailer instructions explicitly say no box or label is needed at the exact staffed location.
Yes, within limits. We can reuse and seal your original box or mailer and attach a printable label you provide. New packaging materials are quoted first. We do not provide fragile, custom, hazardous-material, or high-value packing during the pilot.
No. Send the full instruction screen, QR code, item photo, deadline, and named destination. We use the complete screen to prevent a correct code from being taken to the wrong store.
Only after we reply with an order ID, approved method, full price, route window, and destination. Submitting the form alone does not create a booking.
We record pickup and send the best available staffed-location evidence: a receipt, acceptance record or scan, or another reasonable handoff record. We never call an unscanned drop “accepted.”
You receive an order ID. When available, we photograph a numbered tamper-evident seal at pickup, keep returns separated by destination, use staffed handoff, and send the receipt or acceptance evidence before asking for payment. High-value items are not accepted in the pilot.
After successful drop-off proof. We text order-specific payment instructions. Do not send card numbers or payment before the completion message.
We save the refusal reason, contact you, and do not change the destination without permission. Any customer return or reattempt price is disclosed before it happens; the $3 completion fee is not charged as if the drop-off succeeded.
No. LYU Local handles pickup and handoff only. The retailer decides eligibility, condition, timing, and refund amount. Keep monitoring the retailer after we send proof.
Never. We do not request passwords, card numbers, government ID, or access to your shopping account. You start the return yourself.
